Open Access Policy

Open Access in Journals and Publications

Nasirus Publications is committed to the free and unrestricted dissemination of knowledge. The journal Yayın Araştırmaları: Kültürel Miras ve Bilim operates under a fully open access model. All articles published in the journal are made immediately available to readers at no cost. Authors are not charged article processing fees (APCs). This represents the Diamond Open Access model.

Selective Gold Open Access for Trade Books

For scholarly monographs and edited collections, authors may elect to make their work fully open access after publication (Gold Open Access). In such cases, the work is governed by a Creative Commons license of the author's choice and distributed through repositories designated by the author. Open access books are produced at no additional charge to the author; production costs are offset by institutional support and infrastructure donations.

Creative Commons Licensing

All open access publications are released under Creative Commons licenses. The default is CC BY-NC-ND 4.0, which permits sharing but not commercial use or modification. Authors may select more permissive licenses such as CC BY 4.0 (most open), CC BY-SA 4.0, or CC BY-NC 4.0. The license is clearly stated in the publication.

Green Road Archiving and Institutional Repository Support

Authors may deposit accepted manuscripts (post-peer-review, in-house formatting) in institutional repositories, research data centers, or preprint servers such as PrePrints.org. No embargo period applies; deposit may occur concurrent with publication. Depositing authors must ensure complete attribution and include the DOI and original publication URL in the repository record.

Open Access Permanence in Retraction

Even if work is retracted, the open access version remains publicly accessible; however, the retraction decision and rationale are prominently noted. Readers and researchers can access the retraction history and the retraction notice in all repositories where the work was deposited.

Data Accessibility

Research incorporating structured datasets is encouraged to publish data in open repositories (Zenodo, Open Science Framework, or Figshare). Data access instructions must be provided in the article or supplementary materials. If privacy or ethical constraints prevent public release, this limitation must be disclosed.

File Formats and Technological Accessibility

Open access publications are released in PDF (typically PDF/A), EPUB, and web HTML formats. These formats are optimized for compatibility with screen readers and mobile devices. References and citations are structured to enable extraction and transfer.

Open Access Publishing Finance

Nasirus Publications funds open access publishing through partnerships with universities, library consortia, and research funding agencies. Authors and institutions may support ongoing operations through annual memberships or project support dedicated to preservation, assessment, and information technology infrastructure.
