Indexing and Digital Archiving

National and International Indexing

The journal Yayın Araştırmaları: Kültürel Miras ve Bilim is indexed by the following services:

  • International: DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals), ProQuest, EBSCO, Google Scholar, OCLC WorldCat
  • National: DergiPark (TÜBİTAK ULAKBIM), Turkish Education Index, Library and Documentation Centers Association (KADDDER) archive

The journal complies with international indexing standards and research ethics guidelines. Authors are assured that all articles are easily discoverable through national and international search engines and abstracting services.

DOI Registration and Crossref Integration

Every article receives a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) upon publication. All DOIs are registered with Crossref, the international system for work and author identification. DOIs provide permanent, unique identification and remain functional even if the article's server location or URL changes. Authors may use DOIs in citations and social media sharing.

ORCID Identifiers

Nasirus Publications encourages authors to use ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) identifiers. ORCID is a unique, persistent identifier that tracks a researcher's complete bibliography and contributions. Authors can easily add published works to their ORCID profiles and increase visibility in international researcher databases. Submission requires author ORCID numbers.

Long-Term Preservation and Distributed Archiving

Nasirus Publications commits to preserving published content for 50+ years through:

  • LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe): The journal participates in LOCKSS. Published articles are permanently stored on servers at numerous institutions.
  • CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS): A trusted library and archive network authorized to recover and republish content in the event of publisher data loss.
  • Internet Archive (Archive.org): The complete journal archive is preserved in the permanent web archive (Wayback Machine).
  • Turkish Authors Association Archive: The journal is also included in the Turkish Authors Association's long-term preservation archive.

Institutional Repository Support and Metadata Transfer

Universities and research institutions may upload journal articles to institutional repositories (e.g., EKUAL, TUBITAK ULAKBIM DergiPark, Ankara University Open Access System). Nasirus Publications provides MARC records, ONIX metadata files, and simple XML headers for institutional deposition. Repository managers may directly ingest these files into their systems, enabling automated library catalog integration.

File Formats and Technical Standards

Published articles are preserved in the following formats for long-term accessibility:

  • PDF/A-3: ISO standard for permanent archiving; includes embedded metadata and resources.
  • XML (JATS/TEI): Machine-readable structure; supports searchability and reuse.
  • EPUB 3: For portable devices; accessible-reader compatible.

All files are stored in formats selected for 50+ year accessibility and readability.

URL Persistence and Redirect Protocol

Articles are assigned permanent URLs on the publication platform. Even if server infrastructure changes, all links remain functional; automatic redirects ensure old URLs forward to current locations. Title or URL structure changes do not break external links or social media citations.

Access Continuity Commitment

Nasirus Publications commits that if the journal ceases publication, all published articles will remain openly accessible. In such circumstances, the complete archive will be released under Creative Commons CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 or a more permissive license. A copy of the journal archive is preserved with the Internet Archive or LOCKSS network to ensure permanent accessibility.

From submission to shelf

How We Publish

The path a manuscript takes from submission to the shelf is set out in advance, with a named owner and a typical duration for each stage.

  1. Initial screening (10 working days). The secretariat checks formal completeness, similarity score and fit with the list.
  2. Peer review (21 days). At least two independent referees report under double-blind conditions.
  3. Board decision. The editorial board weighs the reports together with the author's revision list.
  4. Production. Contract, copy-editing, typesetting, cover design, proofs, ISBN/DOI registration and print.
