Publishing Submission and Evaluation
Book and Monograph Submission: Application Process
Authors wishing to publish academic monographs, edited collections, or library research books should submit the following documents to Nasirus Publications:
- Publication Submission Form: Available from the Nasirus website. Include author name, title, institution, and contact information.
- Detailed Table of Contents: Title of each chapter, brief description, and approximate word count per chapter.
- Sample Chapter or Introduction: A complete 5,000+ word chapter or full introduction manuscript.
- Target Audience Analysis: 1–2 pages explaining who will read the book, academic courses it will support, and market positioning.
- Competitive Analysis: Identify comparable Turkish or English books, their scope and pricing, and explain how the proposed work differs (500–800 words).
- Author Curriculum Vitae: 2–3 pages of academic CV including previous publications, awards, academic position, and evidence of scholarly productivity and publication experience.
Preliminary Evaluation Stage
After submission, the Nasirus editorial team completes preliminary review within 10 working days. This evaluation addresses: (1) Does the project fit Nasirus's publishing scope? (2) Is the manuscript quality, target audience, and academic merit sufficient for publication? (3) Is the project economically and logistically feasible? If preliminary review is positive, the manuscript advances to peer review. If negative, the author receives written decision and rationale within 10 working days.
Peer Review Process
Manuscripts passing preliminary review are sent to 2–3 independent peer reviewers from the field. Reviewers are recognized scholars. Peer review typically requires 6–8 weeks. Each reviewer addresses the following questions:
- Are the topic and methodology original and novel?
- Is the structure logical and reader-friendly?
- Are sources sufficient and current?
- Does the writing meet academic standards?
- Is the target audience and market realistic?
- Overall recommendation: Accept without revision, Accept with minor revisions, Revise and resubmit, or Reject?
Editorial Decision and Response to Author
After reviewer reports are received, the Editor-in-Chief synthesizes all input and makes the final decision. Four outcomes are possible:
- Acceptance without Revision: The book is accepted substantially as submitted. A production timeline is provided (12–18 months from final manuscript to print).
- Acceptance with Required Revisions: Specific revisions (content expansion, source updates, writing improvement) are requested. The revised manuscript is resubmitted within three months and may undergo additional peer review.
- Rejection: The manuscript is declined due to scope, academic merit, market fit, or publishing policy. The author receives detailed decision and feedback.
The author receives the final decision in writing. Anonymized summaries of reviewer reports are shared with the author (reviewers remain anonymous).
Contract and Production Timeline
Upon acceptance and contract execution, the following schedule applies:
| Stage | Duration | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Author submits final manuscript | 3–6 months after acceptance | Revised final text in standard format (Word or PDF). |
| Publisher production (copyedit, design) | 2–3 months | Language flow improved, sources standardized, cover and layout designed. |
