Working at Nasirus Press

We are a small, specialised team. Editorial work turns on the text itself, so what we look for is a relationship with the text rather than a set of titles. We accept applications even when no post is open and contact candidates in the pool when a suitable role appears.

Areas of work

• Commissioning and editing: assessing proposals, running peer review, developmental editing.
• Copy-editing and proofreading: academic Turkish, APA 7, indexing.
• Typesetting and design: InDesign, cover and interior design, pre-press checks.
• Metadata and digital publishing: ONIX, DOI registration, EPUB production, accessibility.
• Sales and institutional relations: library and consortium sales, book fairs.

Freelancers

We keep a separate roster for freelance copy-editors, typesetters, translators, indexers and cover designers. Send a work sample, your field and your typical turnaround.

Internships

We run two internship terms a year for students of publishing, literature, history and information management. Interns work on a live file under an editor's supervision.

Send your CV and a short letter to [email protected]. Applications are held in confidence and kept in the pool for two years, after which they are destroyed under Turkish data protection law.
